Another Earth Catalog by Fabian Reimann

Using the Whole Earth Catalog of 1968 as a reference of tools for the improvement of the world & self, Reimann created a visual-style zine book, one of a final series of zines called the Freeman's Journal which Reimann had produced for ten years. ‘Another Earth Catalog’ is a stream of images that are reproductions of the Utopian visions of the late 60's to post-modernism, including material from the Whole Earth Catalog. Also included is a personal essay by Reimann about Whole Earth Catalog's history and the start of the internet.

In its day, the Whole Earth Catalog was originally divided into five categories or themes: Understanding Whole Systems, Shelter and Land Use, Industry and Craft, Communications, Community, Nomadics and Learning. It was a magazine or 'a catalog of ideas.' Issues dealt with self-sufficiency, communes, grassroots revolutionaries and non-urban living. There has been a lot of revival of interest in the magazine in recent years, including this book.
