After 80 years Bauhaus magazine came back into existence from the same creators. It originally started in 1926 coinciding with the opening of Walter Gropius' classic Bauhaus building in Dessau. The magazine then, touched on modern trends of the time in art and design. The current magazine is bi-annual, includes essays, interviews and more addressing issues of design in the present day environment on an international platform. Each year a different graphic designer is chosen to create two issues.
In this issue: "How did the tropics act as an ideal of modernism?" Includes articles on nakedness, chairs designed by Gunta Stolzl and Marcel Breuer, Tropical Bauhaus, building culture in India, Le Corbusier, Israel's architectural offensive in Africa, Anni Albers in Mexico, and more.
