The Lowbrow Reader is a comedy journal/ zine that was born in New York City in 2001. The most recent issue, Lowbrow Reader #10, was published in 2017. 

Topics include Shemp Howard, the Velvet Underground, Bill Morrison the balloon man, Mel Brooks & more funny stuff!

This issue features contributions by David Berman, Drew Friedman, Gilbert Gottfried, Amy Heckerling, Jeffrey Lewis, Engel Schmidl & Brian Abrams.  Illustrations and comics also by John Mathis, Doreen Kirchner, Alex Eben Meyer, Mike Reddy & Tom Sanford.
