Jason S. Wright 'I Am Here for You' Newsprint Poster (Giveaway)

We are excited to announce our first ‘giveaway’ produced exclusively by The Concern Newsstand.

Artist Jason S. Wright created artwork, titled ‘I am here for you’, for a 22.5” x 28” newsprint poster which will be shipping free with web orders & free with all purchases made at our back room bookstore at Lump Gallery in Raleigh and at our Chapel Hill showroom.

Jason S. Wright is currently based in Richmond, VA and shows his drawings & art works internationally. He is prolific in zine/ book producing & in one of a kind shirts with his writings & illustration. He is a founder of Udli Editions, producing such sellables, based in Boone, NC. We have several of his publications in store, including Heads Magazine 6, Heads Magazine 4, a book of drawings Angels Forever and a book of photographs, Scar Lover in a Red Halter.

Reading & Book Signing with artist Jesse Hulcher & his novel 'Drive It Like You Stole It'

On Saturday, February 24 at 4pm at Lump Gallery, Los Angeles- based artist Jesse Hulcher will read from his novel Drive It Like You Stole Itand sign purchased copies, available at Lump and on our web store.  It's a rare occasion to hear this incredibly funny book read aloud.  The book tells the story of two friends and their escapades on the road.  Written more as a conceptual art piece, the novel was written during National Novel Writing Month in 2009.

Long-term Installation at Lump Gallery, Raleigh opening February 2, 6-9pm

Excited to have a long-term installation in the back corner at Lump Gallery in Raleigh, opening Friday, February 2 from 6-9pm. Come by and browse through the newsstand or buy online and pick up at Lump!  Open during gallery hours.

Opening the same night is an exhibit by Becky Flanders: PAIN BODIES: Political resistance and the accumulation of psychic pain

Becky Flanders is an artist and entrepreneur based in Tampa, FL. Born in the Washington DC area in 1980, she received her BS in Artificial Life and the Digital Arts from UMBC in 2002, and her MFA in Photography from USF in 2009. She is a leading member of the photography collective Fountain of Pythons, and a member of the all-female curatorial collective CUNSTHAUS. Her work has been exhibited from Miami to Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Japan, and Australia. Her works have recently been accepted into the permanent collection of the Kinsey Institute.  Her focuses are the mythic feminine, transcendent and ecstatic states, sex positivity, and the   relationship between subjects and states.

Lump Gallery pop up during First Friday, December 1

The Concern Newsstand will pop up next at Lump Gallery in Raleigh during First Friday on December 1 from 6-9pm.

The same night will be the opening on one side of the gallery for Bill Brown and his piece, Moving Pictures, part of the show entitled Analog Playhouse.

On the other side of the gallery will be a piece up by Jeff Bell, called Night, Day, Night for the last night.
